Double velvet
Double Velvet are a versatile party duo, bringing a unique mix of pop, rock and easy listening from the 60's to the present day, suitable for any occasion. This duo combine live vocals and guitar with their own unique custom made backing tracks to provide a full band sound that will suit any venue or occasion. Mat's talents in the studio, as a producer as well as a musician, are really on show with their own completely original backing tracks that you won't hear anywhere else. We think that makes them a little bit special!
Based in Suffolk, this duo have a wealth of experience performing in the music industry, clocking up over 40 years between them, and bring a high level of musicality and professionalism to any event.
Double Velvet can create the perfect atmosphere for any party, wedding reception, event or occasion, playing a variety of different styles from laid back romantic love songs, to upbeat party and sing along tunes, and can tailor their set to your requirements, even taking requests in advance to add that special touch.
As there are only two band members, they can fit into the tiniest of spaces and are more budget friendly than a full band so if you're looking for a band sound but just don't have the room or the money then this could be your perfect option!

Reviews
"Just wanted to say how truly happy I am with the amazing job you both did for Niki and Harry's wedding on Saturday. You entertained the guests with the perfect types of songs and Jackie's performance of the mother and daughter dance was truly sensational. Many of the guests commented on your wonderful performance. Your energy and enthusiasm was infectious and the guests were very well entertained. You are both awesome and we would highly recommend you to anyone looking for top notch entertainment."

"We had this lovely duo at our wedding and we could not have been happier with our choice of musicians. They are the loveliest people who were so accommodating for any music choices we wanted. Our guests loved them and they were very good at reading the room and knowing when to change the music up. They set themselves up in the hall and were so unproblematic. Mat added comedy when interacting with our guests and Jackie’s voice was just so beautiful. I could not recommend more. Thank you both for adding such incredible entertainment for our special day and being the easiest people to work with!"

'What an amazing evening we had on Saturday 9th Oct Mat & Jacks were our chosen band for our birthday celebrations at Henley Community Centre. I love their music and was excited before the event, but they even exceeded our expectations. Their first set was an acoustic selection of songs while people arrived and got into the party mood. The second set was a full band sound which had people dancing for the rest of the evening. We had so many comments from our friends saying how much they enjoyed the band. Such a good sound, excellent to dance to but also excellent to listen to. Jackie’s voice is beautiful and Mat is such a talented guitarist and all-round musician. Lovely people to work with, who worked out a set list with us to fit in our favourites. 10 stars out of 10."
